Hi Rachie well a horse is a big deal as there is alot involed as you know. The rite height for you would be 15hh but I dont know what size you ride on while your having your lessons . You want something that CAN BE TRUSTED CAN BE EASY TO HANDLED & MOST OF ALL SOMETHING THAT YOU LIKE . I payed $3000 for my boy & to get something decent you have to spend big so just look around 1st & dont buy the 1st horse you fall in love with as there is always one better just around the bend cheers Fin
Because of hard times alot of horses are being put through the sales with most ending up at the doggers. you can pick up some very good riding horses cheap there. Take a experienced horse person with you to sus them out. At my local dogger he would ride them first and let me take them for a spin . The dearest cost $1000 for my big boy Cobalt . cheapest was $200 a 15 hh. old grey gentle old lady who was very good teaching the kids.
I would recomend an old plodder to start with . Move up to a faster horse in the future...
rachie, i have replied to you, re coming to our place, from your profile page, so check out my offer. we live on the tourist route, highway frontage, and breed 5 different types of horses. you are welcome to come and have some hands on experience, or just watch how we do 'everything' associated with the property.
all our foals are handled from day one, so nonips, kicks, ect and all 'parents' are the same. we have lovely state forest to ride in adjoining our property, dams to swim the horses/or yourself. i see you like animals, we have the lot, pet kangaroo, open natural reptile enclosure- for injured and pets. aviary ect, so it is never boring, always something to do- when it is not show or breeding time. we have 4 horses presently in work for the shows, so are quite busy, lots to do or see. regards t.

hey trudy it has been a while since i have last posted her but i thought i should to let u know how things r going on my end, things r great i have a job and i am trying to earn as much money as possible as i am still looking for a horse and hopefully will find the one i am truly happy with and will lease the horse first before buying of course but my riding lessons still continue in the mean time with my riding experience being on 4 years going on 5 next year and i am going into yr12 year so things will become heck-tick but i know i can cope if i ride
